Short Hills Youngsters -Week 2 Outdoor FUN!!!!

The sun is shining and our youngsters are eager to explore nature and participate in physical activities. Running, jumping, climbing and swinging are activities that foster gross motor development.

Students can strengthen the muscles in their arms and the legs with exercise and practice!
Repeating a movement until it is comfortable can result in what is called "muscle memory."
 Then movements become automatic.

Short Hills Youngsters Week 2 Yoga FUN

Ms. Lisa takes our Short Hills Youngsters on a soothing alphabet ride to channel positive energy. Her activities help promote and foster positive and pro-social behavior.
Yoga improves students’ behavior, physical health and academic performance, as well as attitudes toward themselves.

Yoga reduces feelings of helplessness and aggression, and in the long term helps emotional balance.

SHORT HILLS WEEK 2- CHESS MASTERS

I AM IN CHARGE...

In Short Hills, Chest Master Ryan introduces our youngsters to the game of Chess. Students develop analytical, synthetic and decision-making skills, which they can transfer to real life.

Student's engage in deep and thorough chess research which will help them build their confidence in their ability to do academic research.

When youngsters play chess they must call upon higher-order thinking skills, analyze actions and consequences, and visualize future possibilities.

Short Hills Youngsters Boogie

Through music, students take an inner experience and move it into a shared creative experience. In Our music group youngsters release energy which channel creativity and productivity. Our students learn about themselves and others by playing music together and by listening to each other - tapping into hidden courage that can be played out by singing together.
