Positivity at Chatham

This summer's mantra at International Ivy is Educate, Encourage, Empower.  This week at camp we have seen campers, teachers and counselors working together to help each other grow.  The focus has definitely been on the students and helping them to produce their best work.

Educate
In our sewing class our teacher is educating the class with new techniques with patterns and different materials.
Encourage

Our campers have been encouraging each other during break times with creative ideas and good sportsmanship.
Empower
Our students feel confident in the new skills that they learn in class to complete individual challenges.

Later on in the week the students will get a chance to visit each others' classes for our sharing showcase.  Stay tuned for pictures and videos!

Digital Creations, Real-Life Fun @ Paramus!

This week our students have made creations both on and off the computer.  Minecraft Advanced and Minecraft Math students have invented their own machines and worlds, while Video Game 2D & 3D students have each made a functional video game prototype to continue developing.  Our students have also been making great memories at break time with fellow campers, with whom they hope to create great friendships!

Princeton is game for wet day fun!! Week 3

Good afternoon!

Princeton week three is focused on Video Game Creation - 2D and Mobile App Design. Our campers have spent the first half of the week doing tutorials, getting inspiration from game design videos, and brainstorming ideas for their own original game! After improving and customizing several sample games, we will see which camper created the best version of each game and who can score the highest points, each earning Ivy Points!! Starting tomorrow, campers are ready to start creating their own unique games!

In the mean time, both classes came together this morning for some water day fun before the weather turned nasty this afternoon. We were fortunate to have the sun come out for our thirty minute break and there was certainly no shortage of July heat!

3D Printing @ Far Hillz

Lone and behold, a 3D printer. And it's ours. This week at Far Hills, campers who take this class will be able to program and build whatever they wish to and leave with something everyday. Whether its a key chain, a phone holder, or even a boat, it seems as if there is no limit to what campers can print. If they can imagine it, they can construct it.

"It's just like normal printing, except its three dimensional. And....its much much cooler, more fun, and overall more awesome. Its also crazy to watch and never gets boring. Other than that its basically the same....I guess" - Said one camper when asked about 3D printing class.

"Woohooooo" - Said another camper.

So many classes, so little time for break?? - Caldwell Week 3

This week at Caldwell, we have two classes in the the morning which are, Robotics Animals, and Graphic Design. We also have four classes in the afternoon which are, Investment Literacy, Robotics Vehicles, Web Design, and Java Programming
Honestly, our week three campers are the most engaged and determined campers I've seen in a while.
They are not afraid to ask questions when confused.
In other words, classes are going very well!
Take a look:

Classes are going so well that they don't want to take a break... but when we get them outside for break time, this happens...

Scotch Plains Week 3!!

Campers are starting off by expressing their creativity through making (and of course eating) their own rice krispy treats in the Engineering of Ice Cream Class!

Students in Scratch are also enjoying themselves by making their own platform game!

Campers in Anatomy and Surgical Techniques are having so much fun- they are losing their minds!!  But don't worry, they can replace them with dissected sheep brains.

Minecraft is back again this week, but this time campers are getting creative!!  They all worked together to replicate the Empire State Building!

Short Hills Soccer!

Playing our favorite game at Short Hills, soccer! Counselor v.s. kids is always a great game!
