Princeton 2016 - Week TWO is coming to an end!

Week two is sadly coming to an end here at the Chapin School in Princeton! We had so much fun this week playing Gaga ball, having water fights, and sharing our creations with one another!

Wednesday we had water day - campers quickly escalated from dunktank into a boys vs girls battle royal!!

Thursday our WACKY HAIR and HAT DAY festivities were hindered a little bit by the humidity, by the end of break ALL campers had wacky hair!!

Finally Friday came and our campers have the pleasure of showing off their game creations and seeing who could get the highest scores!! Both classes really accomplished a lot in this short week and make some great friendships! We enjoyed having you here for Week Two at Princeton!

Caldwell's First Showcase was a Success! - Week 2

Caldwell's first week was full of amazing creative campers who enjoyed their classes!
We had a few returning campers and lots of new faces. Campers were eager to earn Ivy points, participate in Wet Day and dress up for our weekly Theme Thursdays. The first week of camp is always an adjustment, but our staff pulled off a successful week by providing campers with a safe, creative, fun and supportive learning environment.
We ended our first week, week 2, with our first camp-wide Sharing Showcase!
Check it out below:

Traveling the World One Dish at a Time

Lincroft Week 2

This week in Lincroft we had so much fun in Culinary Arts: International Foods and Pasta Making!
On Tuesday, we traveled to Mexico and made three different types on quesadillas and guacamole. On Wednesday, we traveled to Germany and made traditional German spice cookies. We also went to Greece and made hummus and tzatziki dips to go with our pita bread. On Thursday, we got a big of jet lag from traveling to four different countries! We made Irish soda bread, Chinese chicken fried rice, French fondue, and Belgian waffles. Today we stayed in Italy and made fresh bowtie pasta, marinara, and a pizza. It was so much fun!

Here are some clips of us making pasta:

Week 2 Comes to an End at Livingston

As the week is winding down we're looking back on a short but exciting week. The kids were sad to leave their classes. The S.T.E.A.M. rollers campers talked about how much they loved making slime and can't wait to come back next week for another science class. Campers also loved the relay races done during break time. It was very competitive and the kid's showed us their best crab walks and wheelbarrow races out on the field. Looking forward to our new campers coming next week and seeing some familiar faces again too!

Have a lovely weekend,

Friday fun day at Short Hills

It's been a fabulous fun-filled fantastic Friday at Short Hills. Campers love the new emoji toys found in our treasure box and couldn't wait to show them off!

We also had our end of the week showcase and the public speaking students showed off their amazing speaking skills to their parents. Week two went by too fast and we are ready for an amazing week 3!

Week 2 Over Too Soon! - Paramus

This short week was packed with tons of fun in Paramus.  Our students learned how to work as a team in Minecraft, while learning the game, and creating worlds of their own.  In WeDo Robotics, our youngest students made simple projects, like rocking boats, and advanced projects, like Ferris Wheels, carousels, and cranes.  Most importantly, we learned how to work together, persevere, and make friends.  If only it was one day longer!

Programmers Teaching Youngsters @ Far Hills

This morning we had a very special occurrence at International Ivy Far Hills.  Our Mobile App Developers have been working hard at their games all week.  Our Youngsters have been hearing lots of good things about these games, so our Youngster Teacher Elena reached out to the App Developer Teacher Zach to have the class meet and play the games.

The boys and girls in Mobile App Development took the time teach the Youngsters about their games and allow them to play.  It was an awesome experience watching one child teach another child how to play a game that was made just a few days before.  The Developers had patience and encouraging words to the Youngsters as with all new games it takes a few rounds before you get the hang of it.  The staff here at Far Hills was all smiles sitting back and enjoying the cooperative environment that was taking place.  Here are some pictures from this time.  Check out our Flickr and youtube page for more pics/videos.
