Counselor Post #2

Hi, this is Kalyna again.  Week two is going along so well!  I'm focusing on the robotics class, but I've been stepping in to look at the Fashion Design class and the Detective Spy Lab class.  As I told the students - I am SO JEALOUS that they get to do all of these.  The teachers are extremely nice, and the small class size really allows for them to focus on everyone individually.  The campers are really excited now that they have settled in, and the creativity flowing from them is incredible (see below!!). 


The other counselors and I are able to walk around, but mainly we are focused in one main classroom.  However, during breaks we are able to have snacks and play some games and do team building activities.  Today we played "a big wind blows" (it was a great success). Here is the group that I had today, as well as with our Assistant Program Director.  They had a lot of fun sharing facts about each other and playing outside.

The students are starting to form bonds, and even ask about which classes they can sign up for next!! I walked around a lot this morning, and I took some pictures.  Please feel free to comment on our blog posts! Here are some more pictures from our morning classes.

Robotics Class

Hi, my name is "J".  I have been in International Ivy.  I have been doing the robotics class.  The robotics class is so much fun.  We earn Ivy Points.  At the end of the week you can earn prizes.  I will love to come next year.  I meet new friends.

My Robot

His name is Ultra Dragon.  He has super senses, super flying powers and his breath is anything in the world.  For example fire, water, etc.  He is fast, smart, big and powerful.  He has special spikes that looked like stegosaurus.  They retaliate damage to the opponent.  Ultra Dragon is 10 feet tall and 30 feet long.  His ultimate blast allows a snail to power him up.  He can talk also.  He also contains a hidden power that allows him to cause anything to break.  He can learn the moves dragon master, outrage and dragon controller (1).  His powers are extreme. 


Can you control him also?


(1) Battle, move, PC and super dragon.  

Design Star

Today in fashion we designed and sketched our shirts.  I had a lot of fun.  Tomorrow we are going to design our actual shirts.  Camp is so fun. 

Fashion Design

Today is the 2nd day of camp.  I love it so much! Before I did not know how to sew, now I know how!

Today is the second day of fashion design.  We worked on Appliques and cut-outs.  It was fun.  I loved my happy-faced-heart.
