Dancing and Other Fun at Short Hills

The first day of Week 3 at Short Hills had great weather, so our campers decided to go outside and enjoy the sun. They played freeze tag and keep it up. Some campers even decided to dance! Overall, it was a great first day at Short Hills!

Lemonade Stands at Short Hills!

 At the end of Week 2 at Short Hills, the Lemonade Stand class tested out their business skills by marketing their lemonade to the entire camp! Between all the different types of lemonade, the camp had a great time and the Lemonade Stand class learned about making money!

Somerset Week 3 - Soaring to New Heights

International Ivy Somerset is back and better than ever! This week, we have a few classes that are taking us to new heights, including Raspberry Pi, Java 1, Robotics Animals and Vehicles, Chemical Engineering, Competition Training for the Math Athlete, and Java Level 1!

Counselor vs. Kids Friday!!

Chatham Week 2

Here in Chatham Friday means a couple of different things. First, it means the end of a great week. Then, it means camp shirts and treasure chests. Most importantly, it means counselor v.s kids at break time. At break its a battle between the campers and the counselors and teachers. This week we played capture the chicken and four corners. Everyone had a blast! We aren't sure who won in the end but we all had fun!

Chemical Craziness

Week 2: Chatham

       It was chemical craziness this week in Chatham in Chemical Engineering. They had a bouncy ball contest and learned all about safe lab equipment. The bouncy balls were made from glue, borax, and water! Today, they made bio-plastics. What is that you ask? Check out the video below of two campers explaining it.

Crazy Chemworks gets wild with bubbles !!

The Crazy Chemworks class at Short Hills had fun learning about gases. They got to play with dry ice and even got to see if they could balance some bubbles on their heads!

Creative Writing Takes Over the Blog

Chatham Week 2

Greetings from the International Ivy Week 2 AM Creative Writing class in Chatham! We are very

excited to be here this week. This class is made up of two awesome, amazing, artistic writers!

We love this class for many reasons! Mostly because we love to write! And we have an amazing

teacher, Michelle! We make amazing poems and short stories.

Although it is a short week because of the holiday, we are working very hard and having a great
time and learning a lot. On our first day, we learned about personification, simile, and metaphor.
Today, we used photographs from home to inspire our poetry using what we learned so far. Some
of the activities were poems, rhyming games and making up stories. We meet here to learn and
have fun!

Later this week, look out for some amazing short stories! We are so ready to write, and we love

this class!

Future Surgeons at Work !!

On Day 2 of Week 2 at Short Hills, the Anatomy and Surgical Procedures class got to dive in to their first dissection! They got to dissect a sheep's brain and even had fun playing with their dissection tools!

A Special Birthday In Chatham

Week 2: Chatham

      Today in Chatham we are celebrating. It is Head Counselor Charlotte's birthday! Charlotte has been with International Ivy for three summers and Chatham is lucky to have had her. She worked her way up from a Counselor to Head Counselor this year. If you are ever looking for Charlotte, you can find her hard at work in the office working on technology reports, playing with the youngsters, or building robots with the campers. She always runs great break games and over the years has made a lasting impression on not only the campers, but the fellow employees as well. Happy Birthday Charlotte and know that we are all better people for meeting you!

  

                                                 

Fun Out of the Sun!!

Week 2 at Short Hills started off with some very hot weather. Our campers escaped the heat and still had plenty of fun in the gym!
